The Algarve is Portugal's southernmost part of the country and consists of 150 kilometers of beautiful coastline, the average temperature is around 20 degrees celsius and the climate is very pleasant all year round. The Algarve is breathtakingly beautiful, with outstanding scenery, long inviting sandy beaches, spectacular rock formations, impressive architecture, charming fishing villages, beautiful golf courses, exquisite local food and drinks, as well as pleasant and helpful residents. 
 
The Algarve has about 400,000 inhabitants and every year around 10 million tourists, students and other visitors come to Portugal's popular coastline. Faro airport in the Algarve, as well as Portugal's capital Lisbon airport, receives visitors traveling to the Algarve. The most visited towns and areas of the Algarve are from East to West; Tavira, Faro, Albufeira, Vilamoura, Silves, Carvoeiro, Ferragudo, Praia da Rocha in Portimao, Alvor and Lagos.
